The Tuesday Post: Sign the petition for the USPS

"The postal service is not a federal agency. It does not cost taxpayers a dollar. It loses money only because Congress mandates that it do so."

Consider signing this petition.  Maybe the US Postal Service can make a little money and continue to deliver postcards :)

P.S. If you sign the petition, share it with others.

Nouvelles Images Atelier Postcards (aka Multiples)

Have you heard about Nouvelle Images Atelier cards?  Perhaps you noticed people collecting "multiples"?  These cards are printed in France and are hard to come by here in the USA.  So, I purchased a bunch and have bundled them into sets just for you.  Check out my ecrater shop!

Here is my personal collection:

Saturday Market: Cut Out Postcards

Double Decker Bus by Present & Correct

One of my favorite types of postcards is the "Cut Out Postcards".  These are postcards that you are expected to cut up to make a 3D object or puppet.  Of course, I could never cut up a postcard that has been mailed to me - I would loose the history of the card:  the note, the stamp, the postmark...  But I still collect them.  Above are a few new ones that I found online.  And below is my meager collection.

Link Love: Etsy.com

I love etsy.  I love the idea of finding unique items and being able to sell things I create.  I love the community that it creates.  I love the friends that I have found through etsy, that share my handmade passion.  I want to share that love with you!

So, I am giving away one $25 USD gift card to etsy.  You can use it in any shop that accepts gift cards, including MaxAndCoPost.  Here are the rules to enter:

1)  Go to etsy.com and leave a comment here on this blog post with what item you would spend your gift card on.  You can also click on the photo above for ideas.
2)  While you are on etsy.com go to MaxAndCoPost.etsy.com and "favorite" your favorite item in my shop (click on the little red heart).
3)  Go to the MaxAndCoPost Facebook page and "like" it.

It's as easy as 1-2-3.  Do all three, and your name will be included in the drawing!  $25 will buy  ALOT of postcards!

One winner will be chosen at random on Monday, Feb. 11 at 5:00am PST and posted later that day in Monday's blog post.  If you are the winner, you will be contacted through a "convo" on etsy to send me your email.

**  Note:  I am not aware of how etsy gift cards work from computers outside of the USA.  It is your responsibility to make sure that you can use the gift card.  There are some FAQ's here that may help. **

The Tuesday Post: Postage Stamps of Postcards

There is something really ironic about a postcard stamp that is an image of a postcard.  I know in other countries they have "maxi cards", but somehow this is different.

Friday Philosophy - Eat More Cookies!

Just a reminder - it's Girl Scout Cookie season!  Support your local troop - it teaches young girls business skills and builds confidence.  (And P.S., you can't use the excuse that you have allergies/are on a diet/etc. - you can still purchase a box of cookies and have it donated to the charity of your troops choice or to US troops overseas).
